Professional Bio
An established professional with three+ decades of leadership and museum experience, Ruth Ann Rugg is well versed in the challenges facing museums today. In 2016 she assumed the new role of Director of Special Projects at TAM. In this capacity she will continue to work for TAM on focused initiatives such as the Museums United Phase 2 project, TAM’s partnership with the Summerlee Foundation to advance the sustainability project, and other special programs. Rugg has been on staff of TAM since 2008 and a member of TAM since the early 1980s. A native Texan, Rugg graduated from Texas Christian University. Her career includes positions at the Kimbell Art Museum and Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, Dallas.
