A Message from TAM President, Margaret Koch

TAM Blog, Executive Leaders Digest ,

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the TAM Executive Committee, I hope this message finds you healthy and flourishing, especially as many of us are preparing for the new school year and eager students coming back through our doors again.

I write to share the news that at the end of August, Alex Freeman will be leaving his role as TAM’s Executive Director to begin leading the San Angelo Museum of Art. This is an exciting opportunity for him and the museum, and you may have seen the very nice press notice from San Angelo this week.

Alex came in as ED of TAM just in time to manage our annual gathering in El Paso. He steered the organization forward through some of our most challenging years, exacerbated by the pandemic, and despite personal tragedy. We are grateful for his service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

TAM will be in excellent hands during the transition phase, because as of September 1, Brittany Petrilli has agreed to accept the Executive Committee’s offer of becoming interim director. During her tenure with TAM, Brittany has used her wonderful skill sets, warm personality, and exceptional professionalism to ensure workshops, conferences, and the continuity of day-to-day operations move forward. We look forward to working with her in the days ahead.

Please join us in congratulating both Alex and Brittany. And, don’t hesitate to reach out if TAM can be of service to you. Best wishes from all of us on Council.

Sincerely,
Margaret Koch
TAM President (2021-2023)
