Organization Overview

Description:
The Dallas Fed promotes a strong financial system and healthy economy in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District, which includes Texas, northern Louisiana and southern New Mexico. Through their offices in Dallas, El Paso, Houston and San Antonio, they work for and with the people of their district to build an economy that works for everyone.

Their responsibilities are wide-ranging. They conduct economic research and gather perspectives from the region to bring to national conversations about monetary policy. They work with government, the financial industry, and the community to ensure their banking system is safe, accessible, and secure. They help maintain a reliable supply of cash and support digital payments. And they work with community partners to ensure that all people in their district have opportunities to build a bright economic future.

Their success depends on actively connecting with the people and communities they serve. They’re building a strong economy together. The Dallas Fed’s “Economy in Action” exhibit invites visitors to learn about the nation’s central bank and the vital part it plays in the economy, explore the nation’s early history of banking and currency, and eavesdrop on early conversations that led to Dallas being selected the Eleventh District Bank. The free exhibit is open to the public for self-guided and guided tours during the week with priority given to high schools.
