Professional Bio
Dr. kYmberly Mieshia Dionn Keeton hails from Fort Worth, Texas, and is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of North Texas. She is a Creative Interdisciplinary Scholar with an M.L.I.S. in Library Science and a Graduate Certificate in Digital Content Management. Additionally, Keeton has earned multiple degrees, including a B.A. in English-Creative Writing from the University of Houston with a minor in African American Studies, a Baccalaureate Degree with Honors in English-Creative Writing, and a Graduate Certificate in African American Studies. Keeton holds memberships in Gamma Pi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Beta Phi Mu International Library & Information Studies Honor Society, and the Honors College at the University of Houston. She is also a Fellow of the UNT Graduate Student Teaching Excellence Program (GSTEP) and a Graduate of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Scholar Instructor Program. In 2019, she received the Austin Civic Futures Award (Texas) for Community Inclusion & Engagement and was named a “Library Mover & Shaker” by the Library Journal in 2020. She received the prestigious 2022 UNT Mark E. Rorvig Endowed Graduate Fellowship Award and was granted the esteemed LEAD Doctoral Data Science Fellowship at Drexel University for the years 2023-2024. In December 2024, the creative scholar proudly received recognition as a Great Grad from the University of North Texas College of Information, a clear reflection of her exceptional talent and determination.
