What We Are Looking For
 
The Mayborn Museum works to engage our community and inspire life-long learning through or rich collections, vibrant programs, and hands-on experiences. The Broader Impacts Volunteer Engagement Manager will support this mission by overseeing all aspects of an engaged volunteer program that provides meaningful impact and relationship with the Mayborn, strengthens community connections, and rewards and challenges individual and group volunteers while engaging and enriching the visitors' experiences.
 
This is a Monday - Friday position that will require some work on weekends and holidays.
 
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
 
Qualifications
 
• Bachelor's degree, three years of relevant work experience in management and working with senior adult and teen volunteers, and a Christian faith are required.
• Master's degree and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.
 
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of these requirements
 
What You Will Do
 
Volunteer
 
• Plan and oversee quality programming that fosters greater connectedness and collaboration with Baylor University and our community
• Develop and evaluate annual goals and plans based on volunteer needs for museum activities in collaboration with museum staff
• Plan and implement recruitment strategies to ensure an ample and diverse team of adult and teen volunteers
• Build and maintain relationships with community partners, Baylor Departments, and Baylor Student Organizations as volunteer recruitment sources
• Develop and implement an orientation program, and ongoing training opportunities
• Issuing sound instruction and appropriate training/mentorship for various categories of volunteers
• Ensure volunteer processes are in compliance with volunteer-specific and University-wide guidelines and policies
• Develop, implement, and manage a volunteer strategy that offers volunteers a meaningful, long-term relationship with the Mayborn
• Develop creative, comprehensive recognition program
• Implement processes to provide accurate and timely analysis and reporting of program outcomes and goals
• Establish a culture to showcase the value that well-trained and supported volunteers bring to the museum
• Leading, evaluating, directing, budgeting, and supervising the activities of the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, the Volunteer Engagement Student Graduate Employee, and student employees to ensure quality programming and engagement for museum visitors
• Liaison for the volunteers serving on Baylor's Lifelong Learning Special Events Team and Executive Team
• Determine annual budget needs
 
Broader Impacts Research
 
• Develop and implement Broader Impacts outreach efforts to support the University's R1/Tier 1 status by recruiting and training Baylor researchers to engage museum visitors and creating programming opportunities for Mayborn Research Partners to share their research with museum visitors
