Director of Outreach Programs - Lufkin, Texas  


The Museum of East Texas seeks an organized, highly motivated Educator to work with community outreach programs part-time. First and foremost, the candidate must enjoy working with children and adults.  


Responsibilities:
 The Director of Outreach Programs will create and maintain community outreach programming, including after school programs; participation with community-wide family events; Super Saturday events throughout the year; education opportunities during school breaks; education classes for adults; maintenance and scheduling of Traveling Trunks; assist with grant writing; and assisting with all aspects of Summer Art Camp in collaboration with the Director of School and Family Programs.  


Qualifications: 
Completed bachelor’s degree in education, art, or history is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be accepted. Applicants must manage multiple projects simultaneously, be organized and flexible, work well under pressure, be computer proficient, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.  


Hours and Pay:
  Expected hours include LISD school breaks, two days a week after school during the school calendar year, some weekends, and half-days throughout the summer. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience, between $16 and $22 per hour.
