Education Programs Coordinator
The primary responsibility of the Education Programs Coordinator is to assist the Education Director in developing and administering all school, family and public educational programming.
The Education Programs Coordinator reports directly to the Education Director, who makes assignments in terms of broad program plans and objectives, and delegates independent responsibility for their accomplishment. The Education Coordinator reports secondarily to the Executive Director, who may assign non-departmental tasks.
The Education Coordinator's duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversees Ed. Department High School Internship program and Junior Docent student volunteer program.
Assists Education Director in the planning and facilitation of both physical and virtual K-12 school outreach programming.
Assists in the planning and facilitation of all other education programs such as quarterly family festivals, monthly media workshops, public lectures, teacher in-service workshops, summer art camps, etc.
Assists Education Director in museum tours and gallery activities for school and public audiences of all ages.
Assists Education Director in the creation of printed and digital gallery instructional material and interactives corresponding to both permanent collections and exhibitions.
BA or BSE in either: Museum Studies, Art Education, or Visual Art [MA or MSE preferred]
2-3 years of museum or classroom instruction experience
Strong graphic design and desktop publishing skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Knowledge of museum best practices and standards
Valid drivers license and willing to travel
Available for occasionally required evening and weekend work
